Filed under: full tilt poker, poker, poker news — June 24, 2009 @ 6:45 pm

Full Tilt Poker has just launched a new informative section containing all the action of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an intense online heads up poker tournament featuring some of the world’s best big money poker players taking on the Heads Up Specialist Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The brand new section presents internet poker players and fans the chance to stay on top of this historical online poker challenge and get timely challenge details. With this brand new “durrrr Challenge” website players can follow all the poker action and review each hand played during the poker challenge, and look at lots of statistics, including number of hands played, session time, cash won, average won during each hand and much more.

About six months ago, the 23 year old online poker phenom issued a heads-up poker challenge open to any poker player with the money, time and ability to accept it. Any player entering the poker challenge has to bet $500,000 against Dwan’s $1.5 million. Tom’s challenge specifies that a minimum 50,000 online poker hands need to be played simultaneously at four or more poker tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the heads up challenge, the player who has more money will secure the pool. Basically if you enter the durrrr challenge and win $1 after the 50,000 hands, then you will secure Tom’s $1.5 Million, but if he succeeds by $1 then he will win your $500,000.

So far, several poker pros have agreed to to play the “durrrr challenge”, including WSOP Champ Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, but, only Patrick Antonius has said yes to the Full Tilt Poker Challenge. Until now, both players have participated in a total of 20,647 poker hands out of 50,000, with Dwan ahead $726,546 total.

Magnificent New Encore Sin City Hotel-Casino to Unveil

Filed under: Las Vegas, las vegas casinos, sin city — December 23, 2008 @ 2:36 am

encore hotel
Sin City hotel tycoon Steve Wynn unquestionably has a reason to be wound up about this holiday time. Investing about $2.3 billion, the eye-catching casino and hotel named Encore will inaugurate this week.

This lavish hotel and casino is attached to the very popular Wynn Las Vegas on the Sin City Strip. While tons of Vegas hotel-casino proprietors are trying to come across a manner to keep their hotels afloat, Wynn is flying high with his $billion hotel investments.

This 2000 room casino-hotel is a masterpiece in itself. The big attraction of this hotel will be the nightclub, dubbed XS. Wynn has seen in the recent past that nightclubs are a huge attraction in Las Vegas, Nevada, and not predominantly the hotel-casinos as they have been in the past. He thinks that Vegas nightclubs usually produce more money and are a massive meeting spot for the younger group.

Wynn has also created an extravagant eatery near the XS nightclub. Named after the well-known Colombian artist, Fernando Botero this circular restaurant has a large Botero carving as the centerpiece. Eventhough it is not as dramatic as the nightclub which it is connected to; the Botero steakhouse is thought to harmonize fairly well with the flamboyant LV nightclub.
The thought behind XS and Botero is a type of St. Tropez ambiance, where the celebration goes on without a pause and a big part of the partying occurs close to a swimming pool or beach-type setting. Things are certainly different in Sin City, where most people fancy parties to slot machines right now.

Robbie Knievel to Jump Mirage Megaresort’s Upgraded Volcano

Filed under: Las Vegas, las vegas events, sin city — December 19, 2008 @ 2:54 am

vegas mirage
With close to a full year of no activity, the Mirage Hotel and Casino’s legendary volcano will be revived bigger and more fantastic than it has ever been. The legendary Las Vegas, Nevada hotel-casino is trying really hard to interest as many sightseers as possible to examine their renovations.

This upcoming New Year’s Eve, the stuntman Robbie Knievel will take a stab at a motorbike jump over the Mirage Hotel and Casino’s synthetic volcano. This stunt will mark the conclusion of a 3-year transformation of the Las Vegas hotel. During this time, the LV hotel has invested about $110 million enhancing their accommodations and suites.

This New Year’s Eve act is scheduled to be Knievel’s final stunt in the U.S.. The stunt will go on for 5 minutes and feature fireworks and a state of the art music recording. The music for the act has been composed by Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart. Robbie Knievel is the son of the deceased Evil Knievel-the first and most renowned daredevils.

The Las Vegas, Nevada Mirage was opened in 1989 by Vegas industrialist Steve Wynn and was regarded as LV’s 1st megaresort. This reconstruction is one of a huge number on the Las Vegas Strip lately. The hotel-casino hopes that this feat will invite a large amount of vacationers to the Vegas hotel. The thought behind the overhaul is to do better than other massive LV hotspots like the Bellagio resort.

Oscar De La Hoya vs. Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao will be a Bout to Remember

boxing
The Vegas event many boxing fans have been eagerly waiting for is happening this week. The Golden Boy will battle one of the sport’s present finest fighters, Manny Pacquiao. This match is scheduled for Sat. December 6th in the MGM Grand in Sin City.

Surely there has been much talk in LV about this contest. De La Hoya has cut his weight down to 147 lbs. to fight as a welterweight, and there have been rumors that Oscar could not be as sturdy since the drop in weight. ”Pac-Man” Pacquiao has previously boxed one time as a lightweight and wants to compete from now on in the welterweight group. Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao is also the current lightweight champ , and is judged by many boxing experts to be the best fighter of these times.

This is Oscar “Golden Boy” De La Hoya’s first excursion back to Sin City for a bout since he fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May of 2007. This bout is no doubt a sell-out for the MGM Las Vegas. Tourists to Vegas have reduced lately, but Las Vegas events like this match really have a way of bringing fans to Las Vegas.

This boxing match will unquestionably be one people will be talking about for years to come as it puts together the two finest boxers of our time in a 12 round welterweight contest. The Golden Boy versus ”Pac-Man” Pacquiao tickets are on sale right now. If you see only one Las Vegas, Nevada event during 2008, this is without question the Vegas Event to see.

Consumer Electronics Show Vegas Followers Astonished by Unbelievable Room Rates

Filed under: Las Vegas, las vegas events, vegas — November 21, 2008 @ 9:44 pm

consumer electronics show las vegas
Guests of next January’s C.E.S. Las Vegas might be in for a nice change in their plans. Regularly, around this season it is nearly unheard of to come across a vacant Las Vegas, Nevada hotel room anywhere in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show LV is proving to be a standout Las Vegas event. A good number of the biggest resort hotels on the Sin City Strip have surprisingly lowered their hotel rates at a maximum of 20%.

Practically 100,000 tourists raid Las Vegas every year to examine the advanced electronics displayed by the C.E.A.. The LV event is on display from Jan. 8-11 with the greater part of the events taking place in the Venetian Hotel and Resort and the Sands Las Vegas. This proves to be a time period when finding a decent hotel room rate becomes practically a ridiculous job.

The C.E.A. revealed some time back that a bunch of the Vegas Strip hotels and resorts have cut their hotel room rates, the majority of them by quite a large percentage. If you have already made your reservation, you probably want to see if there are any better deals on Vegas rooms. One of the best deals is: the Tropicana Las Vegas has cut their nightly rate by around seventeen percent. The biggest of the LV hotels in use next to the Consumer Electronics Show, have begun providing exceptional C.E.S. prices to the visitors of the Las Vegas, Nevada event.

Most specialists state that this reduction in LV resort hotel prices is based on the detail that the majority of the electronics enterprises have had to reduce the number of the workforce they are flying out to the event. This makes the Las Vegas, Nevada resort hotels to slash their room rates to draw more sightseers to their resort hotels at the time of this show. Others indicate that it has more to do with the present lack of visitors to Las Vegas in contrast to years past.

LV and its two worlds

vegas
Las Vegas is showing many contradictions recently. For the run of the mill LV vacationer, their cash can last a great deal longer than earlier in the year. On the other hand for the Vegas local, times are somewhat more difficult.

The LV visitors will be incredibly pleased with the low costs of Las Vegas, Nevada hotel rooms, even on the Vegas Strip. Without bringing up the availability of bargain Las Vegas show tickets, Vegas coupons, and even Las Vegas food credits. This is certainly a peak moment to stay in Sin City for the budget –minded visitor. Of course the economic state does have an affect on some aspects of Las Vegas, Nevada for the vacationers. As, various shows are obligated to shut down or hunt for new theaters. “Stomp Out Loud” is the most clear example of this change, they are moving out of the Planet Hollywood resort and casino theater in this coming January.

To show an example of how the United States’ financial state is negatively affecting the Las Vegas residents, you can take a look at the very same Las Vegas casinos, Las Vegas casino hotels, and Sin City restaurants that give these bargain costs and Sin City coupons. In the last few months LV has noticed the total number of visitors decrease, this in turn affects the standard attendant, bellboy, or casino dealer. Many of the key LV Strip resort hotels have been required to lay off personnel because to this condition.

If there is one positive element of this state; the outlook is very optimistic for Las Vegas, Nevada vacationers. You undoubtedly able to discover some amazing Sin City coupons, and with the cost of fuel plunging these are wonderful times to sightsee in Vegas.

“Criss Angel BeLIEve” opens at Luxor Hotel in LV

Filed under: sin city, sin city shows, vegas — November 5, 2008 @ 8:54 pm

criss angel
One may feel that a dramatic mix of Criss Angel in the company of Cirque du Soleil could possibly be a match created in heaven, or in Angel’s case, hell.

If you had the opportunity to be any one of the countless showgoers who have gone to this brand new Vegas production, called Criss Angel BeLIEve at the Luxor Hotel, then you could possibly have a different notion about this new presentation. This new LV production is in fact Cirque du Soleil’s sixth event to operate on the Las Vegas Strip.

The production initiates quite alike Criss’ standard illusion presentations, with a dash of “Cirque”. Then unexpectedly an unsuccessful illusion trick transports Angel into a Wizard of Oz-like dreamworld. You will see bizarre rabbits running around the theater, in conjunction with Criss Angel’s habitual feats and illusions combined with Cirque du Soleil’s vivd charm. It climaxes with Angel more or less tearing himself in half, perhaps the best part of this performance.

One of the concerns, that most showgoers have come upon with the performance, is the element that the illusionist has lots of speaking parts in the presentation. Criss’ acting skills aren’t in reality his best talent, and this is not routine in any of Cirque’s other trendy Las Vegas shows.

There are more positive factors than negative, though, in this combination of Angel with Cirque. You will see many fabulous magic tricks presented in the performance, and joined with Cirque’s genius, it does have its brilliant and magnificent moments. The ticket sales do not lie, as this performance is shaping up to be one of leading presentations that Cirque has had in Las Vegas.

Cirque du Soleil which was produced in Montreal, Canada adds this pioneering initiative to their lineup of Las Vegas shows. Cirque’s other presentations consist of: “O” in the Bellagio Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, Zumanity at the Zumanity Theater at the New York-New York hotel casino, LOVE at The Mirage Hotel Casino, Ka in the Ka Theater inside the MGM Grand Casino, and Mystere at the Treasure Island Casino Hotel.

Some tips to find the top Las Vegas room and flight vacation deals

Filed under: Las Vegas, las vegas flights, vegas — October 22, 2008 @ 2:30 am

vegas deals
Despite the fact that you are short on cash and want to get away for the weekend, Las Vegas, Nevada can be a great weekend escape if you plan ahead and do some searching. One good tip is to have a clear idea of what you want to do, how long you want to stay, and where you will be spending the night. As long as you have a clear picture of these questions, then your trip to Vegas will undoubtedly be one to remember always.

When it comes to choosing a flight, this will probably take the most effort on your part to find the cheapest flight. Many airlines have been cutting down their flights recently, due in part to the economic and fuel condition in the U.S.. Something to think about is to compare travel packages from a number of different companies; a good example of these sort of packages might be hotel + flight + car rental for a specific price. You may find in some cases that it is more economical to pay for these separately. The difference in cost you may find could be significant.

One idea that you may find useful is to register for e-mail notifications from the Sin City hotels and airlines you are interested in. They will forward you an e-mail when their best deals are available around two months early. Also make sure that if you have already reserved a Sin City hotel room, continue to check the prices that they are publishing all the way until the date of your trip. The rates could change so if you see a price cheaper than the one you reserved, try to speak with the manager of the hotel about dropping the cost.

Also keep in mind that the amount of visitors in Las Vegas is down at the moment, Las Vegas hotels and resorts are looking for your business. Today is the day to purchase that trip to Vegas.
