Porn’s Big Night in Sin City

Each year since 1984 the porn world has been taking a day off from the steamy Hollywood film sets and travelling to Las Vegas, to be admired one night a year for the work they have accomplished throughout the year. The Vegas Adult Awards were created to award the actors, actresses, and the crew behind the cameras in the erotic film industry. Their goal is to pay homage to the industry’s promise of erotic creativity and free spirit. The Adult Show Vegas is supported and sponsored by Adult Video News which is based in Chatsworth, California.

The 2008 AVN Vegas was a milestone for the ceremonies, since they were celebrating their 25th year of the awards. The insanely popular Vivid Entertainment Group took home the most awards last year, where they were honored with a handful of awards in a range of different categories including Best Film and Best Director.

One would think that the only people you would see at this awards show are busty blondes and toned guys, you would have thought wrong. It is very probable to find porn actresses associating with some very famous Hollywood mainstream celebrities at the Vegas Adult Awards ceremony. A few unlikely individuals who have been spotted or even given out awards in past events include Dustin Diamond, Christina Aguilera, Criss Angel, Carrot Top, Sean Penn, Eddie Van Halen and Dave Navarro among others. Even rappers are involved in the adult movie industry these days; it has been said that Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent have been investing in porn movies for some time now.

The 2009 Vegas Adult Awards will feature over 100 categories ranging from best director to best film and every other category pertaining to adult flicks you can imagine. The awards given out to the winners are called “Woody’s” and the recipients of a Woody are chosen by industry equals and other professionals and critics of the adult entertainment business. Nominees for the AVN Vegas need to have films available for purchase in at least 100 video stores, and the movie has to have been released before the 30th of September of the previous year. The 2009 AVN Awards Show will be presented on January 10th , 2009 in the Mandalay Bay Hotel Casino in Sin City.

The game of poker used to be available only in Sin City casinos or from electronic poker machines, but now it is more popular than ever in Sin City thanks to the internet and TV.

The well-known Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino, is now banking on this popularity with its new audience-participation show called “The Real Deal!” in its showroom located in the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino, beginning in October.

The new game show will merge comedy and game show elements to entertain its live audience. The audience will also be able to participate in the famous Texas-Holdem’ alongside the top poker players. There will be prizes for the audience including a chance to win 1$ million.

In “The Real Deal!” the audience members will play with players like Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu. Around 10 of the World’s most famous poker players have already signed up for the game show about poker. The audience will be able to play along with the 90 minute game thanks to handheld, wireless, touch screen devices located on each seat.

“People who take a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada want to play poker,” Negreanu says, “but obviously they can’t play in a top poker tournament with the people like Doyle or Phil Hellmuth. But, in this show, they actually can.” At the start of the show, six audience members will be chosen to sit at the poker table on stage with two pro poker players. Each audience member is then involved in the action by being dealt a unique hand on their devices. Everyone in the showroom is then involved in the action with big-screen monitors located on stage.

The show’s creators say that you don’t have to be a pro poker player to take part in the poker game. There are other ways to raise your point total, that doesn’t involve the game of poker necessarily. Betting on the suit of the next poker card or trying to guess which state a particular audience member is from, are just some of the ways to come out a winner in this game.

Creators of The Real Deal are also betting on the charisma of the professional poker stars to create some interesting moments. Someone like Scotty Nguyen, the flamboyant five-time winner of the World Series of Poker, definitely has an idea how to entertain the crowd and is a sure bet for some great TV moments in this new poker game show .

The world-famous Bellagio Resort and Casino has just unveiled the Yellowtail Sushi Restaurant and Bar and invited some famous icons to taste their cuisine. This is the Light Group’s fifth restaurant and their first since they partnered with the Dubai-based Zabeel Investments in February.

The Las Vegas sushi restaurant attracted celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Eva Longoria, Charlie Sheen and his wife, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Wilmer Valderrama Michelle Rodriguez, Ryan Cabrera, Marlon Wayans, Shar Jackson, Rick Solomon, Brandon Davis, Playboy Playmate Destiny Davis, and Miss Nevada 2008 Veronica Grabwoski.

The celebrities were invited to taste the delicacies of Chef Akira Back, a former pro-snowboarder turned “Iron Chef America” contestant. The stars feasted on such specialties as Tai snapper, Kobe beef tataki , king crab tempura, rock shrimp, big-eye tuna pizza, the spicy tuna strawberry roll, and of course every type of sushi you can think of.
Paris dined on the beef tataki, ordering seconds and even thirds. Eva congratulated Chef Back while drinking non-alcoholic beverages and abstaining from the sushi. Wilmer enjoyed the delicacies of the famed chef and ordered table shots for his entourage.

The stars finished the evening by mingling on the hotel’s terrace that overlooks the iconic lake, while the Bellagio’s fountain show was enjoyed by all. A concealed balcony offers outdoor veranda seating and a panoramic view of Lake Bellagio and its fountain and light show. But the greatest visual treat is the 25-by-13- foot bronze statue at the opening resembling the dorsal side of a Japanese amberjack.
