The Las Vegas Sands organization has reported rising costs on the casino that they’re constructing in Singapore, as all manner of market forces have seemingly conspired to force the costs involved in the construction into a continually rising amount and seems to be spiraling out of control. Part of the problem is that Indonesia has banned the exportation of any type of local native sand to the area of Singapore, due to the extreme nature of the environmental damage caused by removal of sand in such tremendous amounts. Originally considered to cost around $3.6 billion, the budget will now rise somewhere between 20% and 40% up above and beyond what was originally predicted in the Singapore construction of the Las Vegas Sands newest casino. Similar to the Las Vegas Sands Las Vegas hotels and casinos, the new casino will provide shows and attractions very similar to many Las Vegas shows and Las Vegas attractions that anyone who has ever traveled to the Las Vegas area and attended Las Vegas shows and attractions on the Las Vegas strip will be familiar with. This recipe for success has led to all types of tremendous amounts of profits for the Las Vegas Sands Corporation in the past, and stands to earn them a tremendous amount of future revenue as well.
The Las Vegas Sands has also recently completed construction on a $2.4 billion building in China that is the largest casino ever built on earth and the second largest building on earth, behind a flower warehouse in Holland. With this tremendous expenditure in so many different areas, the Las Vegas Sands stock prices have slipped slightly, due to investors concerns of the corporation over extending themselves in so many different areas. It is true that the overseas construction of casinos and gambling resorts can be prohibitively expensive, but with the track record of the Las Vegas Sands for generating tremendous amounts of revenue, it stands to reason that they will be successful in these latest endeavors, just as they have been in the past.
Despite the rising costs on the Singapore project, the Las Vegas hotel and casino empire that the Las Vegas Sands Corporation intends to expand into all areas of the world is still expected to be quite successful at generating profit overall and in Singapore specifically, regardless of whatever difficulties they currently are experiencing.
